Miyawaki Method Details- Developed in the 1970s by Japanese botanist Akira Miyawaki- Involves planting 2-4 different types of indigenous trees per square metre- Trees become self-sustaining and grow to full length within three years- Plants used are mostly self-sustaining and require minimal maintenance
Significance- Dense green cover absorbs dust particles and regulates surface temperature- Common indigenous plants include Anjan, Amala, Bel, Arjun, and Gunj- Encourages new biodiversity and increases soil fertility
