Mineral Wealth- Only state producing diamonds; leading in manganese, copper, limestone, and coal.
- Panna diamond mine: Produces 1 lakh carats annually; Bunder Block holds 32.2 million carats.
- Led mineral block auctions: 78 blocks auctioned in 2022-23; received top awards.
Infrastructure- 5.1 lakh km of roads, 7 airports, and 6 inland depots.
Local DevelopmentDistrict Mineral Fund completed over 7,500 projects.
Investment Opportunities- Two-day conclave on mining 17th -18th Oct, 2024 to discuss technology (AI/ML) and energy.
- Focus on coalbed methane (CBM) and national gas grid connection.
Diamond IndustryIndia is the world's largest cutting and polishing center for diamonds; 90% of global polished diamond manufacturing.
Diamond fields in India grouped into four regions:
- Central Indian tract: Panna belt in Madhya Pradesh.
- South Indian tract: Andhra Pradesh (Anantapur, Kadapa, etc.).
- Chhattisgarh: Behradin-Kodavali, Tokapal, Dugapal areas.
- Eastern Indian tract: Odisha (between Mahanadi and Godavari valleys).
