Second National Judicial Pay Commission (SNJPC)Constituted in 2017 under Supreme Court order in All India Judges Association case under Article 32. Headed by former Supreme Court Justice P. Venkatrama Reddi.
Objectives of SNJPC- Evolve principles for pay structure and emoluments of Judicial Officers. - Examine present emoluments and service conditions, including post-retirement benefits like pension. - Recommend interim relief for Judicial Officers. - Propose a permanent mechanism for periodic review of pay and service conditions.
Supreme Court ObservationsCommission may send reports on any matter when recommendations are finalized. Commission can devise its own procedure.
